For the 2025 WAVE Summit in Mumbai, Sobhita Dhulipala wore a Manish Malhotra sari brimming with intricate sequins and zari embroidery. In an interview with Vogue, Sobhita Dhulipala had spoken about her love for classic staples such as dupattas and saris that feel “malleable with time”, and this look stayed very much within her ideology.
Timeless, vintage designs are a key part of Malhotra’s signature, especially his love for antique tones. The ornate geometric border on Dhulipala’s sari, for instance, added a distinctly old-world exuberance to its sheer fabric.

The only modern note was the bold cut-out back on the blouse, tailored in olive green silk. And the thick teardrop polki necklace and matching earrings, along with the fresh gajra circlet in her hair, played their parts well in the overall retro look. The actor’s makeup accentuated the eyes with a winged eyeliner, and the smudgy sindoor only added to the newlywed's appeal.
From Vogue’s fashion desk:
“Reimagine the look with an eclectic twist: pair a plain crew-neck tee in a similar shade to her blouse with a voluminous midi dirndl-style skirt featuring silver sequins or a matte silver texture. Swap the kundan earrings and necklace for a single focal accessory—either a statement necklace or a kundan bracelet. Add strappy metallic heels and a bold, slouchy clutch. Hair can be left open or tied back with gajras for a trend-forward finish,” says Vogue India’s Associate Fashion Editor, Divya Balakrishnan.
