Inside Ananya Panday's Italian diaries at Chanel's Lake Como show

Sipping coffee, going boating and posing with fellow Chanel girls—the Gen Z star reveals exactly what she got up to

Ananya Panday is living la dolce vita. The newly appointed Indian Chanel ambassador spent a few days in Lake Como, Italy, for the maison's resort 2025/2026 show. As if quintessential boat rides under painting-like landscapes with her younger sister Rysa, and indulging in Italian meals, wasn't enough, her fashion took a step ahead. Decked out in twirly Chanel dresses, oversized sunnies and shoulder bags, the actor reveals her Italian diaries exclusively to Vogue.

"You can’t go to Lake Como and not be on a boat. We shared some time together on the serene blue waters with none other than Sofia Coppola herself," says Ananya Panday.

"The view from my room that I could never tire of," says Panday.

"Soaking in some vitamin D at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo after attending the talk about Italian filmmaker Luchino Visconti, who collaborated with Gabrielle Chanel," says Panday.

"Villa D’Este is the most gorgeous property in all of Lake Como whose former residents were aristocrats. The space is so well manicured, just walking around a green space felt like such a break from the humdrum of Mumbai," says Panday.

Panday’s looks were a carousel of soft fabrics and feminine cuts. She kickstarted her trip with a butter-yellow textured midi dress, styled with Chanel’s Cruise 2024/25 crochet bag and loafers. Sun-kissed makeup and semi-tousled hair added to the Italian charm. Next, a trusted pair of denim jeans with a white tank top served as staples for a touristy day.

For the show day—Chanel’s Cruise 2025/26 show, she slipped into a black dress also from the Métiers d’Art collection, styled with black sandals from the Cruise 2024/25 collection. Feather pendant earrings and kohl-rimmed eyes added the finishing touches to her ensemble.

“My sister Rysa and I don’t get to see other always since she is in Uni. We try to find time together when either one of us is travelling halfway across the globe to get some quality time in. Rysa dictates my fashion and food choices, unfortunately I have no say in either of those things when we are together,” says Panday.

“I like a little caffeine before I am about to set out for some interviews and social interaction,” says Panday.
