From trendy handbags to classic tweed jackets—all the times Ananya Panday wore Chanel

In Vogue’s March-April 2025 cover story, Ananya Panday had recalled her longing for the “really cute Chanel Wallet bag” that she had once borrowed from her mum and flaunted through much of her teens—one that her little sister later spirited away to New York in a predictable sibling stunt. Last week, when Chanel announced Ananya Panday as its newest ambassador—and its first Indian one—life seemed to be coming full circle for the young actor.

Over the past year, Panday has woven some of Chanel’s most celebrated motifs into her personal style—from the elegant earrings to tweed sets and scarves turned tops. Ahead, look at some of her recent outings when she turned to the French luxury house’s designs.

Chanel 25 handbag

In Vogue’s latest edition of What’s In My Bag, Panday shared the contents of her Chanel 25 bag, wearing a classic Chanel black tweed jacket and jumpsuit. Beyond her dog's toys and headphones, the list included a monogrammed maroon silk stole and a star-shaped, quilted silver coin purse also from the maison.

Silk stole turned top

Take notes on how to elevate a stole in your vacation wear wardrobe from the actor. During her Seychelles trip, Panday styled the stole as a bandeau top while sporting a deep tan and natural beach waves.

Chain belt and crab stud earrings

Be it the silver and crystal chain belt styled over a draped high-slit skirt or her crab studs from Chanel’s 2024/25 Cruise collection inspired by the coastal town of Marseille, Panday incorporates a little bit of the French maison even in the details.

Mesh clutch with chain

Playful prints, blush-pink cheeks, and an assortment of Chanel pieces became her staples during the Seychelles trip. For a day around the island, she opted for a fitted leopard print skirt from Skims x Dolce & Gabbana collection, paired with a black tube top and Chanel’s black mesh clutch from the Spring Summer 2025 runway.

A sharp tweed suit has become synonymous with Chanel somewhere along their history, and recently Panday too wore their signature set. The wool-and-cotton tweed set came with brooches all around the fabric. She tied her look together with soft, dewy-pink makeup and tousled hair.

For an evening at the Gala de L’Opera in Paris, Panday went for a monochromatic black look. She paired a Spring Summer 2022 couture dress with a mini black flap bag. Statement earrings and a winged liner completed her look.

For Chanel’s Spring Summer 2025 runway show, the actor wore Look 9 from the Cruise 2024/25 collection—a pink, ecru, and black fantasy cotton tweed jacket with matching bermudas. She punctuated the look with black-and-white heels and a saccharine-pink bag with a chain sling.

Cotton tee, camera case and mini flap bag

For an off-duty day in Paris, monochrome colourways took over Panday’s choice of clothing and accessories. Nothing says comfort better than a trusted pair of jeans, t-shirt and jacket paired with a crossbody as you immerse yourself in sojourns and waffles.

Logomania can be a fun route when it comes to luxury dressing and Panday is proof. A riot of colours and florals painted her matching set from Chanel’s Spring Summer 2024 collection. She committed to the maximalist theme with a matching flap bag and multi-coloured sunglasses.
