From her characters Poo in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) to Geet in Jab We Met (2007)—Kareena Kapoor Khan has worn dramatic kohled eyes one way or another. Recently, for her cousin Aadar Jain’s pre-wedding celebrations, Kareena Kapoor Khan channelled her love for kohl-laden eyes and nude glossy lips, again. Kapoor Khan’s makeup artist for the evening, Savleen Kaur Manchanda, opted for a soft-coral bronzer that allowed the eyes to remain in focus.

To recreate her look, follow the steps below:

  1. Start by cleansing your face and applying a moisturiser that hydrates and gives a glowing base. Let it absorb fully.
  2. Follow up with a primer to achieve a smooth skin texture and help makeup last longer.
  3. Choose a lightweight foundation to even out your skin tone. For a natural finish, use a damp makeup sponge or brush. Make sure to blend it into your neck for an even tone.
  4. Apply concealer under your eyes and on any blemishes to brighten and even out your complexion. Blend it well for a seamless look.
  5. With a thin brush, sweep a brown eyeshadow on the crease of your eyes for depth and along your lower lash line. Tap off excess product to avoid fallout.
  6. Apply peach eyeshadow across the lids.
  7. Smudge a kohl pencil along the upper and lower lash lines for a smoky effect.
  8. To soften the edges, apply dark brown eyeshadow to the outer edges and upper lash line.
  9. Curl your lashes and apply coats of volumising mascara on your upper and lower lashes.
  10. Use a soft contour powder or cream to sculpt your cheekbones, jawline and forehead. Apply in light layers and blend well to avoid harsh lines.
  11. Add blush to your cheeks and blend upwards for a radiant glow. Choose a shade that complements your undertone.
  12. Highlight the high points of your face, including your cheekbones, collarbones, bridge of your nose and cupid’s bow.
  13. Exfoliate and moisturise your lips. Line them with a nude lip liner, then apply a glossy nude lip colour for a plump and polished finish.
  14. Finally, set your makeup with a fine mist of setting spray, holding it at arm’s length, to lock everything in place and ensure long-lasting wear.
