Alia Bhatt’s embroidered Anavila sari is the solution to all your haldi wardrobe woes
The multi-coloured botanical motifs on the sari lend the drape to a festive occasion

Alia Bhatt has been consistently upping her fashion game on various occasions this year whether it’s a black tie event or her friend’s wedding ceremonies. Recently, Bhatt wore a vibrant rani pink kurta-set from Raw Mango, for one of the ceremonies that made into our must-buy list this wedding season. If you need some inspiration of the haldi ceremony, then take cues from Alia Bhatt’s latest laddu-pila look that she disclosed on her Instagram account.
Styled by Ami Patel and Garma Garg, Bhatt wore a sunshine-yellow semi-sheer linen sari embroidered with floral and fauna motifs in red and green from Anavila that she paired with a tiered pearl choker featuring Zambian emeralds, and natural diamonds set in gold from Artifact by Devika Advani and a sleeveless matching plain blouse. One of the highlights of her look was the reverse braid style that complemented her jewellery and was an experimental approach compared to her usual personal style i.e. open wavy locks.
Linen is rarely considered a wedding option and is mostly opted for office-wear. However, the intricate details in the sar elevate the drape lending it to various occasions. The lightweight, natural fabric that is made from the flax plants, has become synonymous with Anavila’s braid due to the designer’s unique spin on it, is the perfect sustainable option this wedding season with this particular sari. The botanical motifs on the handloom sari prevents the look from being one-dimensional. For the uninitiated, the designer Anavila Misha decided to take the road less taken and foray into couture with the fabric this year.
