Sara Tendulkar’s embellished JADE sari is the cocktail outfit to look out for this wedding season

2023 turned out to be the year of saris and traditional wear. From Alia Bhatt sporting bright chiffon saris for the promotions of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani to Priyanka Chopra’s Sabyasachi looks at the Jio MAMI film festival and Rekha’s signature Kanjeeveram sari at the Dior pre-fall fashion show in Mumbai, it’s saris galore. Tissue and sexy sequin renditions were all over the stylists’ moodboards this year. To add to the list, we now have Sara Tendulkar’s latest look that is the perfect lightweight option for a cocktail party, with a hint of bling, of course.
Tendulkar wore a custom onyx black embellished sari from Jade by Monika and Karishma, styled by Eka Lakhni that was paired with a matching backless and sleeveless blouse with intricate embroidery on it. It was further complemented by minimalist jewellery consisting of danglers, bracelets and rings from Vandals. The shimmery sari was designed by the co-founder Monica Shah and featured a thin embellished border that synced with the subtle glitzy hand embroidery on the sari, while being distinctive. Unlike the sequin saris, this particular one is subtle in the bling factor without looking too plain. The embroidery runs vertically through the sari to give a coherent look. For the glam, Sara Tendulkar opted for a low bun with wispy strands framing her face and soft glowy look. In a sea of extremely elaborate, blingy and intricate options when it comes to saris, Tendulkar’s choice reigns supreme in its minimalist approach and fits well for all wedding ceremonies and festivals.
