Tamannaah Bhatia chose a stunning drape from Tarun Tahiliani’s latest autumn-winter 2023 collection, ‘After Hours’. Cut in fluid satin silk, her drape illustrated a gorgeous teal shade. “We usually work with a patina of dust, ivories and gold, but for this collection, we looked at deeper hues. While my mood board started with a bright peacock blue I saw myself gravitating towards the richness of teal. The deep colour is also reflective of a metallic sheen, making it appear extremely layered, which we love,” he shares.
“Over and above the gorgeous shade, I think what makes the outfit special is that it showcases that not everything needs to be overtly ornate to be considered occasion wear. A classic sari in a flattering hue draped beautifully and paired with an intricately embroidered blouse that fits like a dream and feels luxurious when you wear it is always a great choice to adorn when you step out,” the veteran designer elaborates. The hero of Bhatia’s look is the blouse, which “features hand embroidery in a tessellation pattern inspired by the geometric aesthetic of Art Deco architecture. The embroidery is done with an aari and uses a scatter of sequin,” Tahiliani reveals.

Tamannaah Bhatia kept the styling pared-down with nothing but a pair of uncut diamond earrings and a stack of kadas. Tahiliani is on the same page, adding, “I’ve always believed in keeping looks minimal, clean and chic. Accessories are meant to add to a look and not take away from its finesse. I see this outfit paired with a simple jewel belt from Tarun Tahiliani and a pair of vintage or heirloom earrings that complement the embroidery of the blouse.”
