Paris Haute Couture Week, the mecca of fashion, often sees an outpouring of craftsmanship and artistry on the runway. This year was no different as designers took showcasing their avant-garde designs up a notch. Among them was an Indian jewellery brand that was returning to the heart of the global capital of fashion for a second time.
It was an elegant dance of grace and luxury that took over the runway as Tanishq—the jewellery brand from the House of Tata—unveiled its latest Enchanted Trails Collection on this global stage. Models trotted and glided along showcasing the collection that was inspired by the twists and twirls of branches, the ebbs and flows of rivulets and natural streams in India. The collection captures the very essence of nature with enchanting colours and striking real gemstones, weaving in the overarching theme.
This year, Tanishq collaborated with designer Vaishali Shadangule, the first Indian woman to debut at Paris Haute Couture Week in 2021. Her fall/winter showcase titled ‘Satori’ was a melange of Indian hand weaves and the designer’s signature corded silhouettes.
Thrilled about the collaboration, Shadangule said, “Jewellery is an extension of couture and partnering with Tanishq—who is so particular and skilled in heritage workmanship with global luxury quality—is a mutual enhancement of our philosophy. Also, the Tanishq ‘Enchanted Trails’ Collection further empowers our two concepts of nature and luxury.”
Actor Radhika Apte opened Shadangule’s show, draped in a maroon sari and wearing Tanishq’s statement earrings. She closed the show in an azure blue gown with a necklace that mimicked the ripples of water.
From majestic trees to the meeting of rivers, the Enchanted Trails Collection draws inspiration from the intricate beauty of nature. It showcases Indian flora and fauna with designs that mimic the movement of branches or the allure of blooming flowers.
Just as sunrays gleam on the ripples of tiny streams, the Flowing Whispers Diamond necklace set design emulates the interplay of light and water. The Mystical Bloom Diamond necklace uses gemstones embedded in a layered diamond neckpiece, showcasing the brand’s artistry. There is a plethora of such mesmeric designs that can be explored in this collection.
