Styled with the classic nauvari drape, Alia Bhatt's orange and pink drape drew attention as she stepped out for the WAVES India summit in Mumbai today. Playing a modern muse for the Indian designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, Alia Bhatt spotlighted the rich history of the garment to mark Maharashtra Day.
In bright shades of peach, coral, and fuchsia, the handwoven piece featured a rich golden border with floral embellishments. The sleeveless blouse, delicately embroidered with zardozi and sequins, elevated the desi Barbie silhouette. Its plunging neckline and open back added a more contemporary touch to the traditional form.
Geometrical beaded rings and dangling turquoise earrings anchored the look with a rustic charm. Wrapped around her wrist was a simple gajra—a nod to the vibrance and romanticism of the state. True to her signature, Bhatt stuck to minimal beauty, opting for understated makeup, a slicked-back bun, and a micro green bindi to match the earrings.
